Targeting G Protein‐Coupled Receptors with Magnetic …

Iron‐filled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are an optimal platform for theranostic purposes, and the use of a magnetic field can be exploited for cancer magnetic cell sorting and thermal therapy. In this work, we have conjugated an A 3 AR ligand on the surface of iron‐filled CNTs with the aim of targeting cells overexpressing A 3 ARs.

CiteSeerX — Magnetic Carbon Nanotubes: Synthesis …

Abstract. Magnetic multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were facilely prepared by the electrostatic self-assembly approach. Poly(2-diethylaminoethyl methacrylate) (PDEAEMA) was covalently grafted onto the surfaces of MWNTs by MWNT-initiated in situ atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) of 2-diethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA).

Magnetic Susceptibility of Molecular Carbon: …

Elemental carbon can be synthesized in a variety of geometrical forms, from three-dimensional extended structures (diamond) to finite molecules (C60 fullerite). Results are presented here on the magnetic susceptibility of the least well-understood members of this family, nanotubes and C60 fullerite. (i) Nanotubes represent the cylindrical form of carbon, intermediate between graphite and ...

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) possess large potential as extraction absorbents in solid phase extraction. They have been widely applied in biomedicine research, while very rare application in natural product chemistry has been reported. In this work, methoxypolyethylene glycol amine (mPEG-NH 2 ) …

Magnetic carbon nanotubes: synthesis by a simple ...

In this study, a new synthesis technique of magnetic multiwall carbon nanotubes (MMWCNTs) was achieved and its application for drug-loading ability was assessed. MMWCNTs were prepared by a simple solvothermal process, which can easily alter the size (100–350 nm), location, and denseness of Fe3O4 beads fixed on MWCNTs as well as the MWCNTs structure via controlling the reaction parameters.

Carbon nanotubes produced by this method were characterized by their ability to generate heat caused by the electromagnetic field with known parameters, that is, frequency and magnetic flux density. Moreover, to investigate if the thermal oxidation was an appropriate method of purification, thermogravimetric test was done.

Carbon nanotubes go magnetic – Physics World

Modelling magnetic nanotubes. It is widely believed that graphite and other forms of carbon can have ferromagnetic properties, but the effects are so weak that physicists are not sure if the magnetism is due to tiny amounts of iron-rich impurities, or if it is an intrinsic property of the carbon.
